7/1/2011 – 2010 annual report of Goodwill Industries of Kentucky ranked among top 50 annual reports in North and South America

Kentucky Goodwill honored alongside worldwide Fortune 500 companies

Louisville, Ky. – The 2010 annual report of Goodwill Industries of Kentucky was ranked among the top 50 annual reports in North and South America by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP). Kentucky’s Goodwill ranked alongside such Fortune 500 companies as Boeing, The Coco-Cola Company, Habitat for Humanity, Kellogg Company, Wal-Mart and Yum! Brands. Goodwill’s publication also received a top 50 honor in the United States, as well as a silver recognition among non-profit organizations of similar revenue and size.  “Our staff works diligently every year to produce an informative and engaging report. Although the ultimate goal of our annual report is to provide transparent information about our organization, this recognition comes with a great sense of achievement,” said Roland R. Blahnik, president & CEO of Goodwill Industries of Kentucky.

The 2010 publication features the theme, “Goodwill gives a hand up, not a handout,” and highlights the fact that Goodwill Industries of Kentucky provided services and referrals to 10,797 people and paid more than $15,500,000 in wages to individuals with disabilities or other disadvantages in 2010. LACP was established in 2001 to create a forum within the public relations industry that facilitates discussion of best-in-class practices within the profession while also recognizing those who demonstrate exemplary communications capabilities. The selection committee received more than 5,000 entries for the 2010 annual report competition and chose the top 50 based on creativity, first impression and message clarity, among other criteria.
