Bowling Green, KY— Goodwill Industries of Kentucky will hold a three-day hiring event May 9-11 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at its program office, 1806 US. Highway 31W Bypass (across from Zaxby’s).
Employers will be on-site to interview candidates for positions in manufacturing, transportation and logistics, hospitality, food service, and more. Employers confirmed to attend include Bojangles, Bowling Green Retirement Village, Fruit of the Loom, Ft. Dearborn, KOBE Aluminum, Lord Corporation, and Hampton Inn. Candidates should bring copies of their résumés and dress in interview attire.

The hiring event coincides with Goodwill Industries Week, an annual celebration by local community-based Goodwills across the U.S and Canada. During that time, many Goodwills offer an array of appreciation events, job fairs, hiring events, and other activities that highlight the nonprofit organization’s mission to help people get to work, especially those who have the most difficulty finding and maintaining employment.
Goodwill’s Job Junction program is a free community resource that offers résumé development, one-on-one interview coaching, career exploration, screening for and referral s to area employers, and linkage to educational programs and human services providers. More than 3,800 south central Kentuckians have received services from Goodwill’s Job Junction program in Bowling Green since it opened in 2013.
Revenue from Goodwill’s retail stores supports numerous employment-related programs across the state, including a program that helps employees maintain their jobs and set and achieve personal and professional goals. Last year, Goodwill placed Kentuckians into more than 2,800 jobs by partnering with 677 employers across the state and paid more than $15 million in wages to Kentuckians with disabilities or other barriers to employment.
