About

Our Future

To complement our mission, Goodwill has a clear vision for Kentucky as outlined by the strategic plan:

  • Provide programs to maximize placements: Goodwill’s goal is to place more than 2,000 people with disabilities or other disadvantages into community jobs each year.
  • Communicate Goodwill’s mission: There is a need for Goodwill to better communicate its mission of helping people with disabilities or other disadvantages achieve and maintain jobs to gain a better quality of life.
  • Expand Goodwill’s donated goods program: Goodwill’s donated goods centers, better known as Goodwill stores, provide a financial foundation for Goodwill’s mission fulfillment. Goodwill’s expansion (number of stores) has a positive correlation to the number of mission-related people employed and the amount of mission wages paid.
  • Expand entrepreneurial programs: Goodwill is exploring additional programs to provide employment for individuals with disabilities or other disadvantages including AbilityOne custodial contracts administered byNISH, among other entrepreneurial-related programs.
  • Improve/expand fund development capacity: In order to serve more people with disabilities or other disadvantages, Goodwill is committed to developing funds from outside sources for various programs.
  • Strengthen/develop board of directors: Goodwill is interested in expanding the board of directors to represent a wider geographic territory as well as increase diversity. The organization is also committed to amplifying board member involvement and creating a more active board.
