The GoodWorks program was created in the 1990s as a service for Goodwill employees who need a little extra support to succeed in and maintain employment. Services include job coaching, soft skills training, job retention assistance, disability accommodations, career planning, job search assistance, and job improvement assistance. Together, a participant and their GoodWorks specialist develop a plan for the participant to improve on the job, as well as address issues or behaviors that could affect work performance and goals.
In 2017, the GoodWorks program was expanded to give all employees the opportunity to enlist the help of a GoodWorks specialist for any number of other reasons, including assistance with tuition reimbursement, criminal charge expungement, benefits and financial counseling, crisis management, health and wellness, referral to other community resources, and much more.
