The COVID-19 pandemic forced Goodwill Industries of Kentucky to halt operations in its 66 retail stores and donation centers for two months, but that didn’t bring a stop to its mission of helping vulnerable populations through the “power of work.”

Goodwill Director of Reentry Services Dennis Ritchie detailed the nonprofit’s virtual efforts during the pandemic and the integral role of the career services department in a recent “Listens Live!” segment on WAVE 3 in Louisville. You can view the segment below.

The nonprofit, despite being short-staffed, has offered to job seekers in need virtual soft skills classes, a virtual paid job training program – Reintegrating Individuals Successfully Every Day (RISE) – online interview training and resume building and even a virtual expungement clinic.
