We at Goodwill Industries of Kentucky are set to partner with the Isaiah House Treatment Center, the Kentucky Workforce Innovation Board, the Bluegrass Workforce Innovation Board and other organizations to address workforce participation challenges in the commonwealth as a result of substance abuse.

The official announcement was made yesterday by the office of U.S. Congressman Andy Barr, which along with U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell will pledge $2,483,600 to the Isaiah House Treatment Center from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Recovery Workforce Support Program, which was established as part of the Comprehensive Addiction Recovery through Effective Employment and Reentry (CAREER) Act.

The program plans to serve over 6,000 Kentuckians in the next five years. Per a release from Congressman Barr’s office, CEO and Founder of Isaiah House Mark LaPalme said, “This new funding will significantly improve our ability to impact the lives of thousands of Kentucky residents who have struggled to get the support and training they need to succeed in life and the workplace.”
