For eight weeks from April to May, members of our career services team here at Goodwill Industries of Kentucky tested a pilot program that offered unhoused individuals in Louisville the chance to work for a day to earn a stipend, lunch – and hopefully much more.

The program – Another Way – was funded by the Louisville Metro Council and used a van to pick up more than two dozen individuals and transport them to work opportunities in the city. Now, many of those individuals have full-time work opportunities and are able to house themselves.

With the pilot a success, the career services team is now pushing for more funding to make the program a recurring resource for individuals across the Metro Louisville area.
