Goodwill Industries of Kentucky employer partner, Rev-A-Shelf, received a “Partner in Philanthropy” award through Louisville Business First today.

Business First recognizes businesses in the Greater Louisville area for their support of charities and philanthropic enterprises with its 2019 Partners in Philanthropy program. Often working behind the scenes, businesses across the Greater Louisville area support many worthy causes with substantial donations and creative partnerships.

For this specific partnership, Goodwill offers training modules that focus on attitude, conflict resolution, dependability, team building, safety, and self-presentation. Additionally, the nonprofit provides background checks/drug testing and ongoing support to help employees overcome challenges in the workplace or their personal lives. In exchange, Rev-A-Shelf provides non-temporary positions that pay a competitive wage and offer health insurance. Designated Rev-A-Shelf representatives help Goodwill Career Coaches understand the job, pre-testing requirements, work environment, and culture, so Goodwill can provide the best-suited candidates.

Currently, Goodwill has 14 participants employed at Rev-A-Shelf. Four of the 14 individuals have been employed for more than one year, and seven of the employees have earned promotions.
