When asked how long her jail sentence was, Tina replied, “Which time?”

For 30 years, Tina struggled with substance abuse, which resulted in decades of criminal behavior. When her son started to go down the same road, she knew it was time for recovery.

“I had to make a choice,” she said. And in November 2018, she began her road to recovery through Suboxone treatment. Tina has been clean for a year and nine months and has worked full time at our Corbin store for nine months.

“I have a colorful background, but Goodwill is known for providing second chances,” Tina said. “My manager makes sure I have a set schedule. Routine is a big part of my life.”

Tina is working with her career coach, Tonya, on transportation needs, quitting smoking and schooling for her son.

“I am so proud of getting sober,” she said. “At the Corbin Goodwill, we are a family here.”
